The Congressional Award
The Congressional Award is America’s Award for Youth. This is an award where you work with a counsellor to set yourself goals and work towards these goals to earn the award. There are a lot of things in common between the Congressional Award and the Scouting program and the work you do in school and other dimensions of your life. 12th Edition of the Boy Scout Handbook: Advancement changes effective 1/1/2010
There are important changes to the rank advancement requirements that all scouts with older handbooks must be aware of.
The Rank Requirements in this book are official as of January 1, 2010. If a Scout has started work towards a rank before that date using requirements that were current before January 1, 2010, he may complete that rank only using the old requirements. Any progress towards a rank that is begun after January 1, 2010, must use the requirements as they are presented in this handbook or in the Boy Scout Requirements Book.
The changes are summarized by the Occoneechee Council .
