Troop Quartermaster Position Description

  • The Troop Quartermaster is an appointed (non-elected) cabinet leadership position. 
  • The Troop Quartermaster reports to the Assistant Senior Patrol Leader
  • The Troop Quartermaster reports to the Assistant Senior Patrol Leader

Responsibilities

Work under the supervision of the appointed adult ASM to:

  • Keep records on all troop equipment stored at the Church, Trailer & Storage Unit.
  • Inform PL’s of resources stored at Church to aid Troop Night activities.
  • Makes sure equipment is in good condition as well as being clean when issued & when returned.
  • On each Troop Night
  • Arrive at least 20-30 mins before opening
  • Set up Patrol Flag Stands (& Lashing Station if needed)
  • Make sure resources are available as directed by PL’s & ASM’s
  • Restock equipment at end of Troop meeting.
  • Makes suggestions for new or replacement items.
  • Set a good example.
  • Enthusiastically and correctly wear the Scout uniform (all four parts).
  • Live by the Scout Oath and Law.
  • Show Scout spirit

Successful Completion of the Requirements

  • Maintains 75% attendance to troop meetings and scheduled events, including weekly meetings and troop outings
  • Annual Review by Scoutmaster for Scout spirit, Oath, and Law assessment.

Notes

  • Serving as Quartermaster can apply towards positions of responsibility requirements for Star, Life, and Eagle.

A scout must be at least First Class for his position
