Carver Falls – September 2009

For the scouting skills trip the troop ventured to Carver Falls, one of the largest waterfalls in eastern NC, near Fayetteville. The troop was lucky having fairly good weather, the ground only being slightly damp from Thursday’s rain. Most scouts slept in tents, although some decided to sleep in an old mill house.  This was one of the most fun trips of the year because although,  the purpose of the trip was to help scouts advance, and to teach younger scouts about camping. They were also allowed free time where the boys enjoyed hiking to different viewing points of the waterfall. In the end scouts got many requirements signed off. At the end of the day there was a cooking competition where the patrols had a chance to earn points for the patrol competition.  In the end this trip which has been an annual event for three years was again a great success.
